Volunteer With Us
Join our adventures, share good company, and be part of a community where every outing makes someone's week.
WHAT VOLUNTEERS DO
Our volunteers come along to the good bits. The outings, the programs, the big community days, helping make sure everyone feels welcome.
You might be:
• Joining a social outing and getting to know the group
• Lending a hand at Gym Buddies, Cooking Class or Photography Club
• Helping out at larger events
• Sharing a skill or interest of your own
You'll start out working alongside our support team, and you won't be asked to provide personal care. As you build experience with us, and once your screening and induction are complete, you may support a guest one to one where we've planned and risk assessed it together.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
-
Patient And Open To Learning
A willingness to learn counts for a lot. We'll induct you and show you how we work before your first outing.
-
A Familiar Face
Our guests look forward to seeing the same people. Turning up when you say you will matters more than anything.
-
Real Experience
Hands-on experience in the disability sector, and a reference from us once you've been with us a while.
-
Genuinely Good Days
Bowling nights, beach days, cooking classes. You'll have as much fun as everyone else.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are you looking for in a volunteer?
Patience, reliability, and someone who genuinely enjoys people's company. Everything specific to our guests and the way we work is covered in your induction, and you'll always start out alongside our support team.
How much time do I need to give?
There's no minimum. What we do ask is that you commit to the dates you sign up for. Our guests look forward to seeing familiar faces, so consistency counts for a lot.
What checks do I need before I start?
Because volunteers spend time directly with our guests, the same screening applies to you as to our paid team. Before your first shift you'll need an NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance, and a Working with Children Check if you'll be supporting guests under 18.
We know that's a bit of paperwork before the fun part. We'll walk you through each step.
How old do I need to be?
You'll need to be 18 or over to volunteer with us.
Will I be left on my own with a guest?
Not when you're starting out. New volunteers always work alongside our support team while you get to know our guests and how we do things.
Once you've built experience with us, and your screening and induction are complete, you may support a guest one to one. That only happens where we've planned it and risk assessed it together with the guest, and where both you and they are comfortable. You'll never be asked to provide personal care.
Could volunteering lead to paid work?
Volunteering is a great way to find out whether support work suits you, and to build real experience for study or a career in allied health and community services. We're always happy to provide a reference once you've been with us a while.
