Booking Guide

Booking Guide

A simple walk through of our new website, from finding an outing you like to having your spot booked. No tech skills needed.

STEP 1

What you need before you book

To keep our adventures safe and well supported, only approved guests can book online. That means you need an approved account and a login before you can book anything.

You can still browse the whole website without logging in. You can look at every upcoming adventure, read what is included and check the dates. You just need to be logged in when it comes time to book.

Already a guest with us? You do not need to do anything. We are uploading your email address for you, so your account will be ready and waiting. Skip straight to Step 3, Logging in.
STEP 2

Getting your account set up

This part is only for people who are new to Travel Buddy Adventures.

travelbuddyadventures.com/pages/start-here
Your Adventure Starts Here
We are so glad you are here. Fill out the form below to register your interest, and our team will be in touch to guide you through the next steps.
Registration form

The START HERE button sits at the top right of every page.

1
Click START HERE in the blue button at the top of any page.
2
Fill in the form. It asks a little about you and the kind of support you are looking for. A parent, carer, support coordinator or nominee can fill it in on your behalf.
3
We review it. Our team reads through your form and will contact you if we need anything else.
4
You get access. Once you are approved we set up your account, and you can log in and start booking.
Not sure whether we are the right fit? You are very welcome to contact us for a chat before you fill in anything.
STEP 3

Logging in

There is no password to remember. Our website logs you in using a code sent to your email.

1
Click the LOG IN button at the top right of the page.
2
Type in the email address you gave us and continue.
3
Check your email inbox. We send you a 6 digit code straight away.
4
Type that code into the website. You are in.
If the code does not arrive within a minute or two, have a look in your junk or spam folder. It is also worth checking you used the same email address we have on file for you.
STEP 4

Finding your way around the menu

The black bar across the top of every page is your main menu. Here is what each part does.

The main menu. On a phone it is tucked behind the three lines icon at the top left.

Menu item What you will find
SERVICES Hover or tap to open a list of everything we offer: Social Outings, Life Skills Programs, 1:1 Support, Overnight Stays and Kids Group.
WHAT'S ON This is the important one. Every upcoming adventure across all our services, in date order.
Our Community Photos and stories from our guests and our community.
About Us Who we are and what we are about.
Contact How to reach the team.
Search icon The little magnifying glass. Type in what you are looking for.

STEP 5

Browsing What's On

Click WHAT'S ON in the menu. This is where every upcoming adventure lives, listed with the soonest first.

Every adventure shows a photo, the name, the date and time, and the out of pocket cost.

Just click or tap anywhere on an adventure to open its full page and read all the details.

Looking for one type of thing? Use the SERVICES menu instead. It takes you to a page for just that service, so Life Skills Programs shows only the programs, Overnight Stays shows only the trips away, and so on.
STEP 6

Searching for something specific

If you already know what you are after, searching is the quickest way there.

1
Click the magnifying glass in the top menu.
2
Type a word or two. You do not need the full name.
3
Suggestions appear as you type. Click one, or press enter to see all the matches.

Words worth trying

  • The activity, for example bowling, cooking, photography, pickleball, karaoke
  • The place, for example Cronulla, Sydney, Olympic Park
  • The kind of outing, for example dinner, festival, class, gym
If nothing comes up, try a shorter word. Searching for "bowl" will find Bowling and Dinner, where "bowling night out" might not.
STEP 7

Sorting and filtering

At the top of any list of adventures you will see Filter and Sort by. These help you cut a long list down to just what suits you.

Filter  ▾Sort by  ▾61 adventures

Filter and Sort by sit just above the photos.

Sort by

Changes the order things appear in. Handy options are price from low to high if you are working to a budget, or alphabetically if you are hunting for a name you half remember.

Filter

Narrows the list down. You can trim by price, so if you set the highest price to $25 you will only see adventures at $25 or under.

To go back to seeing everything, click Remove all or Clear next to the filters.
STEP 8

What the labels on each card mean

You will see small labels on the adventure photos. Here is what each one is telling you.

Label What it means
12 SPOTS LEFT How many places are still available. When it gets low it is worth booking soon.
3 DAYS LEFT TO BOOK Bookings are about to close. This shows in the last week before the cut off.
BOOKINGS CLOSED The cut off has passed and we can no longer take bookings. The adventure still shows on the site until the day itself, so you can see what is coming up, but the booking button is gone.
DATES COMING SOON We are running this one, we just have not locked in the date yet. Get in touch to register your interest.
Why do bookings close early? We close bookings a few days before each adventure so our team can confirm staffing, tickets and transport. It is the reason booking early really does help.
STEP 9

Reading an adventure page

Click any adventure and you will land on its own page, with everything you need to decide.

An adventure page. The blue line under the name is always the date and time.

1
The blue date line. The day, date and the start and finish times.
2
The price. This is the out of pocket cost only. See the note below.
3
Location. Where to meet us.
4
What is included. Exactly what your out of pocket cost covers, such as entry, tickets or a meal.
5
Adventure details. What you will actually be doing on the day.
6
Support information. The staffing ratio and the kind of support provided.
About the out of pocket cost The price shown is the out of pocket cost. It covers the things NDIS funding cannot be used for, such as entry fees, tickets, activities and meals. The support you receive from our team is funded separately through your NDIS plan, and is invoiced after the adventure, either to you or to your plan manager.
STEP 10

Booking your spot

Once you have found one you like, booking takes about a minute.

1
Choose

Set how many spots you need, then click ADD TO CART.

2
Cart

Click the cart icon at the top right to check what you have.

3
Check out

Enter your details and pay by card. It is secure.

4
Done

You get a confirmation email straight away. Your spot is locked in.

A few things worth knowing

  • You can book more than one adventure at a time. Add them all to your cart and pay once at the end.
  • Booking for someone else as well? Change the number before you add it to your cart.
  • Your spot is not held until you have paid. Leaving something sitting in your cart does not reserve it.
  • You need to be logged in. If the booking button is not doing what you expect, check you are signed in.
Using a phone? It all works exactly the same. The menu hides behind the three lines icon at the top left, and the cart is the little bag icon at the top right.
STEP 11

After you book

  • A confirmation email arrives within a few minutes, with the adventure name, date and what you paid.
  • Add it to your calendar. Many adventures have a calendar link on the page so the date drops straight into your phone.
  • See everything you have booked any time. Click LOG IN, then Orders.
  • We will be in touch before the day with meeting point details and anything you need to bring.
Need to cancel or change something? Please get in touch with our team as soon as you can rather than trying to change it on the website. Our cancellation and refund policy is on the website in the footer at the bottom of every page.
STEP 12

If you get stuck

There is never a silly question, and we would much rather hear from you than have you miss out on something you wanted to do.

If this happens Try this
The code did not arrive Check your junk folder, then check you used the email address we have on file for you.
No booking button Either bookings have closed for that one, or you are not logged in yet. Look for the label on the photo.
Cannot find an adventure Try a shorter search word, or clear your filters and browse WHAT'S ON.
Payment would not go through Give us a call and we will sort it out with you.
